Job description

Trident Search has partnered with a Specialist Technical Consultancy who are on the hunt for a Senior Network Engineer. They are looking for someone with a strong background in hands-on Infrastructure and network design & implementation.

You will be a part of a dynamic team of specialists who collectively work towards a set of challenging goals and completing complex missions and the development of exciting new technologies. With a real focus on a healthy work-life balance, a fun working environment is always encouraged.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • System infrastructure, and network design and commissioning (installation, config management, patching, updates).
  • Development and maintenance of system operational procedures.
  • Effectively managing the communication with a variety of different stakeholders within the business.
  • Complete training for the maintenance team and operators.
  • Identify & Prioritise risks and manage/implement/mitigate remedial action.
Essential:
  • 5 or more years in IT and Network Infrastructure (WAN, LAN, Routers, Firewalls etc).
  • Experience in designing and commissioning systems aligned with recognised standards and certifications, with a focus on network security.
  • Experience in virtualisation, containerisation, and databases technologies installation and management.
  • Experience working across both Windows and Linux OS.
  • An inquisitive approach to problem-solving and ability to develop concise solutions to difficult challenges.
  • You hold UK security clearance at SC or above, or are eligible to obtain the clearance.
Desirable:
  • Experience in Cyber Security practices and technologies.
  • Experience in satellite communication, optical fibre systems.
  • Experience of the OSI or TCP/IP model.
  • Experience configuring Syslog.
Security Clearance:

Due to the nature of this position, you must be willing and eligible to achieve a minimum of SC clearance. To qualify, you must be a British Citizen and have resided in the UK for the last 5 years.
