Job description

Background
This company is an established multi-£m turnover cyber consultancy working within the fast-moving cybersecurity industry. Headquartered in Leeds, it's our business to make other businesses more secure.

Are you passionate about cyber security and making a real difference to your clients? Are you searching for a role working for a fast paced, progressive organisation without restriction across territories or customer demographic? Do you like to be challenged but also have the autonomy to manage your own workload? Then this is the role for you!

The Role
The company is looking for a new Business Development Manager to join their Sales Academy. A successful candidate will be able to introduce existing Account Managers to new businesses whose security challenges we believe will be solved by their range of security service offerings. Business Development Managers will be rewarded for every meeting that is attended by a project holder or decision maker.

Continuous training and mentorship will be provided by the sales leadership team but the desire and discipline to become a true cybersecurity expert must come from within.

The ideal candidate will need the following background:

o   A desire for knowledge and professional development
o   A passion for relationship building and problem solving
o   The ability to demonstrate strong communication and persuasion skills
o   A positive approach to discussing business challenges and overcoming objections
o   Experience in B2B sales (ideally within the cyber industry but not essential)

Key duties of the Business Development Manager will include:

o   Generating interest in the Cognisys portfolio of services and introducing qualified prospects to the Account Management team
o   Working strategically with sales leaders to prospect pre-agreed target accounts
o   Attending cybersecurity training and developing an expert understanding of our portfolio
o   Offering industry-level expert advice and guidance, challenging existing client beliefs, and interacting with the end user on security solutions

In Summary
Business Development Managers are expected to develop in to Account Managers and a structured development plan is in place to achieve this. A successful candidate should be handling accounts by year 2 to 3 where earnings can increase dramatically, most Account Managers with 3 plus years experience will earn in excess of £80k.
