Infrastructure Security Engineer

We have an exciting opportunity for an Infrastructure Security Engineer to join one of our clients in either London or Hove or remote.

You'll safeguard the business with security across key areas including; infrastructure security (firewalls and web filtering), data monitoring and protection (DLP and endpoint protection), and information lifecycle management (information classification and handling). This is the ideal role for someone like you who enjoys partnering with colleagues across the business to deliver positive change; protecting company, customer and partner information.

Job responsibilities:

  • Supporting the implementation and management of network security processes such as firewall infrastructure change management and associated configuration reviews, web filtering, e-mail security and network access controls to help ensure Legal and General policies and standards are effectively applied.

  • Cloud projects are on going, we are moving to a hybrid solution so cloud experience would be desirable.

  • Overseeing vendors responsible for configuration and management of information protection technologies including Data Loss Prevention and endpoint protection, and ensure they meet contractually defined Service Level Agreements.

  • Engaging with business divisions to identify and manage their information protection requirements as an input into the development and management of DLP policies.

  • Providing support to the security operations team and incident management personnel for the investigation and resolution of information protection events to ensure that any incidents are managed in a timely and effective manner.

  • Identifying new technologies which can help the organisation and aid in the information protection programme

  • Delivering and maintaining an information classification scheme across the organisation to support the discovery, classification, archival / storage, destruction and disposal of information (both physically and electronically) in line with its business value.

  • Supporting the deployment of mobile device management solutions including technologies for remote wipe and encryption of mobile devices to help ensure Legal & General mobile assets are protected.

  • Strong understanding of Firewall and related network security technologies

  • Strong understanding of networks and network protocols and the risk posed by related security vulnerabilities

  • Prior industry experience relevant to this role covering Firewall assurance, and network security, preferably using relevant security frameworks and tooling

  • Experience in managing complex stakeholder relationships.

  • Experience in financial service industry or an industry mature in cyber security is preferred but is not essential

  • Certifications and/or accreditations relevant to this position (CISSP/CISM and industry certifications relating to firewalls, web filtering, DLP, e-mail and web security) would be an advantage.
