Job description

As Director of Sales Engineering, you will report to the VP Sales EMEA & APAC and be responsible for managing and leading a team of Pre-sales Engineers to sell solutions. As a member of the EMEA & APAC leadership team you will help shape and drive the go to market strategy. You will also be responsible for a region to achieve business targets through excellent technical presentation and communications skills, and establishment of ongoing rapport with existing and potential clients. Integrity, vision, and passion are essential for this role. You will promote and demonstrate the value of their product, ensuring POC’s and all pre sales engagements are a success. This role partners and aligns with Sales, Inside Sales, Marketing, Product Development and the Executive Team.

Job Duties

• Lead and manage x5 Pre-sales engineers and activities

• Record and report all Pre-sales activities to the VP Sales and provide strategic feedback and input

• Coordinate with other departments on ongoing projects, bids, troubleshooting and any activity that might require input

• Provide training and support for the Pre-sales engineers through a developed training strategy

• Motivate and develop team performance through regular one-to-ones, coaching and performance reviews

• Maintain excellent technical understanding of product and capabilities

• In partnership with Sales Managers, identify relevant decision makers within target accounts

• Respond to RFI’s & RFP’s accurately and in a timely manner using your knowledge and understanding of the solution

• Manage trials to ensure a successful conclusion

• Drive and enable technical teams within channel partners

• Where necessary, attend trade shows, exhibits, and other events with product/service demonstrations in to drive marketing efforts

• Manage customer POC’s, liaising with the Analysis team to ensure customer details are gathered and that they are on-boarded to our service.

Requirements

• Comfortable working in the fast paced and dynamic environment of a start-up.

• Able to travel into Europe (30%-40%)(where possible during COVID-19)

• Minimum 5 years combined pre-sales/technical sales support/engineering experience required

• 5+ years experience within the IT security space assisting sales teams

• Proven Track record of managing people

• Strong team management/leadership skills

• Experience providing web-based demonstrations

• In depth knowledge of the security market with extensive contacts across customers and partners in EMEA

• Experienced in working with sales teams selling to “C” level execs with a track record of closing six figure deals

• Success in assisting to qualify opportunities involving multiple key decision makers

• Strong knowledge of sales principles, methods, practices, and techniques
