Cyber Security Engineer
Trident Search are hunting for Cyber Security Engineer who wants to make the step into the fast-paced world of fintech.
Our client is an extremely high growth business with global ambitions and backing from a well-established brand.
In the past 10 months they have closed a $50m Series C fundinground to support their rapid growth. Their mission is to support small banks, driving technology to create unforgettable payment experiences to customers.
They have headquarters in London but span all the way to Australia and the US. They are working with some very reputable banks including NatWest but are continuing to grow and search for ambitious personnel to enable them to achieve their goals.
About the role
Working closely with the CISO, the security engineer position is assigned to the businesses main security team. Your responsibilities will cover the security that keeps our sensitive data secure and confidential. The correct hardware and software is paramount to this and you will have a large say in what is placed inside our estate. You will make things more secure by protecting system boundaries, keeping computer systems, networks and cloud services hardened against attacks and securing highly sensitive data.
We require someone to identify threats and vulnerabilities in systems and software, then apply their skills to developing and implementing high-tech solutions to defend against hacking, malware and ransomware, insider threats and all types of cybercrime.
Recommend security controls and help identify solutions that support allow us to achive our business objectives.
Supporting the existing security team: Security Architecture, Security Operations, DevSecOps, Compliance
Develop technical solutions and new security tools to help mitigate security vulnerabilities and automate repeatable tasks, ideally working alongside DevOps/DevSecOps teams to analyse security systems and seek improvements on a continuous basis
Provide subject matter expertise on architecture, authentication and system security
Security Monitoring tooling: assist DevSecOps and SecOps teams by providing the assurance that all necessary log sources are properly integrated into the SIEM (in our case, Azure Sentinel)
Participate in initiatives to holistically address vulnerability management reports from multiple sources
Looks for innovation opportunities between several teams with a willingness to experiment and to boldly confront problems of large complexity and scope.
Understand software, hardware and internet needs while adjusting them according to our business environment
What we are looking for
Experience with the Cloud security with an emphasis on Office 365 Advance protection, Security & Compliance centre, Cloud app security, Windows Defender ATP & Intune, and other security detection, protection, logging and monitoring tooling in the cloud.
Excellent knowledge of Cloud Computing technologies and different environments: Public/Private/Hybrid, SaaS/PaaS/IaaS
Scripting and Coding experience, such as PowerShell, Python, etc.
Hands on experience with a range of security systems, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, anti-virus software, authentication systems, log management, content filtering, etc.
Experience with OWASP, static/dynamic analysis, and common exploit tools and methods
Knowledge of Vulnerability Management, Tenable, Qualys & Azure Security Centre.
Expert knowledge of network protocols and technologies such as TCP/IP, PKI
